Wise Man's Fear

Back in 2008 I was given "The Name of the Wind" as a birthday present. It quickly shot up to one of my all time favorite books. Of course in my world I have like 100 favorites. Well the author had some struggles getting out book 2, and finally 2011 we were given "Wise Man's Fear", book 2. In preparation for book 2, I re-read book 1, and was reminded how utterly fab it was. Book 2 is over 900 pages (big pages, little font) long. But I dove in eagerly. Book 2 picked up right where book 1 left off. And was just as captivating. I really like the characters, the writing, the stories w/in the story, the adventure, the romance. The series has been called the Harry Potter for grown ups, and I think that is a good comparison. It is a much more adult writing, granted the main character is only 15 at the beginning of book 2. I don't want to say much more, so you can form your own opinion.

Sweet, Kimi, I always know I can come to you for a new rec. I just finished "Little Women" and am so overflowing with Christian virtue I'm ready for a change of pace. Sounds like "The Name of the Wind" may just be it. Too bad we don't live closer so I could just borrow from your personal library.
